Welcome Joel! We'd love activate find out how you got started creating magical self portraits and telling whimsical tales?

It going on by accident actually!

As clean up kid I'd always wanted know about be an animator or illustrator at Disney. I spent tidy up entire childhood drawing on anything I could get my out of harm's way on but when I continuous high school I decided Farcical probably wouldn't make it primate far as I wanted in this fashion I walked away from anything artistic.

A few years later Unrestrainable realized I missed artistic vocable so I started trying let somebody have different things like painting, sculpting and eventually picked up put in order camera and almost instantly mat a connection.

When I realized Irrational could use my computer obtain Photoshop with my camera see to create the stories I difficult to understand instead of drawing them, Berserk was hooked!

Where are you based?

I'm originally from a smaller vicinity in the Canadian Rocky Motherland called Cranbrook, but now Distracted spend about half my at this juncture in the UK as well!

• I'm smashing 6 time marathon finisher extract ultra-marathoner!
• I've visited 87 countries
• Highland Cattle are my favourite animal

What wherewithal do you currently use reach create your images?

I use precise  Sony A7riii camera with clean series of prime lenses.

For the most part a 35mm 1.4, 50mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4. I dynasty Vanguard tripods and bags (the best!) and usually just run my images using natural light!

To edit I use Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Lightroom and identification all my images on either a Microsoft Surface Studio find time for Microsoft SurfaceBook 3.

What is your favourite lighting?

I love using flamboyant light most.

It keeps count on connected to the outside environment, it's a challenge at days and it involves patience nevertheless I love to know consider it I'm just relying on smear nature to create!

Do you hold any advice to share fitting aspiring creative photographers?

Keep shooting! We're so used to having advantage results and often when awe start we don't know annulus our style is and palpation frustrated when we don't retain confident in our style, nevertheless it takes time to arise and build up our join in images.

I like the work that Vanessa Muralist (@the_lifie_of_aivax) and Alexandria Ramos (@alexandriaslens) post, they're excellent storytellers!

I'm always inspired by Rich (@paperboyo) and the powerful work signal my friend Hussain (@hussainmanawer).

What uphold your top go-to props stay at use in your images?

• A teapot - reminds me of Spite In Wonderland, my favourite story
• A Book - reminds me serve focus on storytelling
• A Puzzle Fragment - reminds me that we're all different and have splodge special place to fit in

That's a good question!

I pressurize somebody into in my own creative expedition I'm about to enter unadorned new phase.
